An Intra-Muscular injection (abbreviated as "IM") is an injection of a medicine directly into a muscle, after which it immediately gets absorbed into the human bloodstream. This is a very convenient way to get some very powerful compounds DIRECTLY into the bloodstream, without the need to start a (potentially painful) IV to deliver these medications. Some examples of compounds that can be delivered via the IM route are vitamins (such as Vitamin B12), peptides that can assist with lean muscle gain, longevity, immunity, and "brain fog", as well as substances that can aid in accelerating weight loss.
Advantages of IM Injections
A tremendous advantage of delivering these compounds via the IM route is that they do NOT depend on the body's ability to absorb the medications through the gastrointestinal ("GI") tract. There are a multitude of conditions that can lead to poor GI absorption of both foods and medications, including prior bariatric surgery for weight loss, inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, as well auto-immune disorders such as Celiac Disease.
